During his stay, Guna learns that a dreadful man of his past, the terrorist Omar Quadri, is plotting the escape of his men to carry out a terror attack. Guna foils their escape. However, he is met with a moral dilemma when Omar kidnaps Sana and demands his men be released. As soon as he embarks on this journey, he faces many challenges from corrupt officials and politicians, all led by this influential businessman, Adiseshan (Suman), who sees Sivaji as a threat to his profit-making institutions. The film follows Sivaji triumphing over corruption by his extravagant means. This Tamil action movie is famous for its thrilling action sequences and comic relief brought by Arivu Mama (Vivek). Thalaivaa is A. L. Vijay’s directorial movie starring Thalapathy Vijay as “Vishwa” in the lead role. He is a dancer in Sydney who visits Mumbai with his girlfriend Meera (Amala Paul) to discuss their marriage with his father Ramadurai, played by Sathyaraj. Upon arrival, Vishwa discovers that his father, who he thought was a businessman, turns out to be a gangster. He is taken aback and angry at this lie. But the death of his father by rival gang members brings a change of heart in Vishwa. It contains an action-packed path of revenge on which Vishwa pledges to walk. His circumstances force him out of his commoner life of nonviolence and put him in his father’s shoes, which compels him to understand his moral reasons. The contrast from the strait-laced story of love and relationships to a gruelling story of revenge keeps every scene of the movie engaging.
